HYDROXOCOBALAMIN

Hydroxocobalamin, also known as vitamin B12a, is a precursor to vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin is a coenzyme that has various metabolic functions which are important to cell processes such as cell replication and red blood cell formation.

Hydroxocobalamin used to treat low vitamin B 12 levels and its effects.

Do not give Hydroxocobalamin to people with allergic reactions to it.

Interactions

Hydroxocobalamin may interact with the following medicines:

  • Neomycin
  • Aminosalicylic acid
  • Histamine H2-antagonists
  • Omeprazole
  • Colchicine

Signs of Hydroxocobalamin overdose include the following:

  • Mild diarrhea
  • Itching
  • Swelling all over the body
