DIENESTROL

• Pregnancy
• Porphyria
• Undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding
• Known or suspected estrogen-dependent neoplasia
• Deep-vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
• Arterial thromboembolic disease
• Liver disease or impairment

Hypersensitivity

Dienestrol may have the following side effects:

• GI disturbances
• Dermatologic reactions
• Elevated BP (high doses)
• Thromboembolic disorders
• Fluid retention/edema
• Decreased glucose tolerance
• Hypercalcaemia
• Folate deficiency
• Cholestatic jaundice
• Liver tumors

Take extra caution in patients with the following  medines:

• Conditions that might be aggravated by fluid retention
• Cerebrovascular or coronary artery disease
• Women with strong family history of breast cancer or who have breast nodules
• Fibrocystic disease
• Women undergoing surgery
• Renal insufficiency
• Impaired hepatic function
• Metabolic bone diseases
• Child (premature closure of the epiphyses)
• Lactation
