Naproxen + esomeprazole is a combination drug that consists of naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor. This drug is used to treat pain, inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain, while also limiting the amount of acid that is produced in the stomach.
This drug is usually used to relieve the symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis in adults, as well as juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in children. People with a higher risk of stomach ulcers and who need to take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis can take this drug.
Like other drugs, this is only available through a doctor’s prescription.
Your medical condition and response to treatment will be the basis of the dosage you should take. Children’s dosages are usually based on weight so that the risks of stomach bleeding and other common side effects are reduced, and so that this medication is taken at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.
Taking this medication regularly can make you get the most benefits from it. You should use it at the same time each day, as it may take up to two weeks to get the full benefits of this drug.
A doctor may prescribe this medication while also monitoring whether you get a greater benefit with this drug and a low risk of side effects. Many people using this medication did not have serious side effects, as shown by studies.
Check your blood pressure regularly to see whether it has elevated while undergoing treatment with this drug, as this medication may raise your blood pressure.
