RECOMBINANT HUMAN INSULIN ISOPHANE

Recombinant human insulin isophane is an insulin drug that is given as an injection to people with diabetes. It lowers blood glucose by enhancing the uptake of glucose by cells and tissues in the body. To accomplish this, insulin binds to its receptors that are present in muscle and fat tissues.

  • Patients taking beta-blockerslike metoprolol, propanolol, carvedilol
  • Pregnancy and lactation

  • Hypoglycemic agents
  • Salicylates
  • Sulfa antibiotics
  • Corticosteroids
  • Isoniazid
  • Enzyme inhibitors
  • Beta adrenergic blockers

Symptoms of overdose include the following:

  • Hypoglycemia
  • Loss of consciousness
