SULFACETAMIDE SODIUM AND UREA TOPICAL

Sulfacetamide sodium is a sulfa antibiotic that fights skin infection. Urea moisturizes the skin. You should not use this treatment if you are allergic to sulfacetamide, urea, or sulfa tablets.

This mixture of sulfacetamide sodium and urea topical (for the skin) is used to treat acne vulgaris and seborrheic dermatitis (purple, flaking skin and skin rash)

  • You should not use this if you are allergic to sulfacetamide, urea, or sulfa pills. Do not use sulfacetamide sodium and urea topical when you have kidney disease
  • Inform your physician if you have a history of burns, open sores, and skin wounds in the area you intend to treat with this medication.
  • Do not use sulfacetamide sodium and urea topical to treat any skin conditions that have not been checked by your health practitioner.
  • Do not use this without telling your doctor in case you are breast-feeding
  • Fever, sore throat, body aches, flu signs and symptoms
  • Mouth sores
  • Easy bruising or bleeding, weakness
  • Darkish urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)
  • Warm temperature, swelling, skin infections
  • Severe burning, stinging, swelling, or redness of your skin after using this medicine
  • Skin irritation

Avoid getting this medicine to your eyes, nostril, or mouth. If this happens, rinse with water. Do not apply the medicine to your lips or eyelids.

Do not use sulfacetamide sodium and urea topical on irritated or damaged skin.

If ingested, call emergency medical services or the nearest poison control center.
