SALICYLIC ACID ER-CERAMIDES

Salicylic acid can be applied to the skin to deal with psoriasis and different dry, scaly skin conditions. Salicylic acid causes the skin to shed dead cells from its top layer by increasing the amount of moisture within the skin and dissolving the “cement” among the cells.

Salicylic acid is used on the skin to treat psoriasis and different dry, scaly skin situations. This medication is also used to remove dead skin cells from warts, the palms of the hands, and the soles of the feet. It belongs to the same class of medications as aspirin (salicylates). This product should never be used in children younger than 2 years.

Salicylic acid causes the skin to shed dead skin cells from its upper layer by increasing the amount of moisture within the skin and dissolving the “cement” among the cells. This makes it easier to shed the dead skin cells, to soften the top layer of skin, and decreases scaling and dryness.

Younger children less than 12 years of age and people with liver or kidney diseases have greater risks. Tell your health practitioner right away if any of those rare but serious events occur: unexplained nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid respiration, dizziness, hearing troubles (including ringing within the ears, listening to loss), mental/mood changes, and tiredness.

Burning, redness, and peeling skin close to the treated area may additionally arise. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist directly.
