OXYMETAZOLINE (NASAL SPRAY) - Watsons Health

OXYMETAZOLINE (NASAL SPRAY)

Oxymetazoline solution is a decongestant that works by shrinking swollen and congested mucous membranes in the nose.

Temporary relief of congestion in the nose caused by various conditions including the common cold, sinusitis, hay fever, and allergies.

Do NOT use oxymetazoline solution if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in oxymetazoline solution
  • you are also taking furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor (eg, phenelzine)

Temporary burning, stinging, dryness in the nose, runny nose, and sneezing may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Tell your doctor right away if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: slow/fast/pounding heartbeat, dizziness, nausea, headache, mental/mood changes, trouble sleeping, shaking (tremors), unusual sweating, unusual weakness.
