Maclar is an antibacterial macrolide antibiotic with clarithromycin as its main pharmacological component. Excipients, inactive components, are also present in appropriate amounts. Maclar has been used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. These diseases include lung infections (Streptococcus pneumonia), infections of the skin and skin structures, the ulcer-causing Helicobacter pylori infection, and a number of others. It is administered both orally and intravenously, and as a consequence, it is available in dose forms that are solid (tablet), liquid (suspension), and powder for solution for intravenous use.
