CARBOPROST

Bivalirudin

Carboprost is a medicine that is known as a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2α. It enhances  contractility of the uterus, bringing about ejection of the fetus. It is likewise used to initiate premature birth between 13-20 weeks of pregnancy. It produces myometrial contractions in placental blood clotting.

Carboprost enhances uterine contractility, bringing about conception in pregnancy.

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Patient with compromised (scarred) uteri
  • History of asthma
  • Seizure disorders
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Anemia
  • Hypertension or hypotension
  • Heart disease
  • Jaundice
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Interactions

Gallaminetriethiodide may interact with the following medicines:

  • Oxytocics

Signs of overdose include the following:

  • Hypertension
  • Increased body temperature
