This medicine may be recommended for different uses. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more information.

Do not use Wilovex in people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Tendon disorders: Levofloxacin can increase the risk of tendonitis or tendon rupture, particularly in older adults and those with a history of tendon disorders. If you have a history of tendon problems, such as tendonitis or tendon rupture, the use of levofloxacin is contraindicated
  • Myasthenia gravis: Levofloxacin can worsen muscle weakness in individuals with myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder. Therefore, levofloxacin is contraindicated in patients with this condition
  • Children and adolescents: Levofloxacin is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18, as it may affect bone development
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Levofloxacin is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as it may harm the developing fetus or infant. It is important to discuss alternative treatment options with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Seizure disorders: Levofloxacin may lower the seizure threshold and increase the risk of seizures in individuals with a history of seizure disorders. It is contraindicated to use levofloxacin in such cases.

Wilovex may have the following side effects:

  • Gastrointestinal effects: Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, and loss of appetite are common gastrointestinal side effects. It is advisable to take levofloxacin with food to help minimize these effects.
  • Central nervous system effects: Headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, and trouble sleeping may occur. These side effects are usually mild and temporary.
  • Skin reactions: Levofloxacin can occasionally cause skin reactions such as rash, itching, and photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight). It is important to protect yourself from excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen when outdoors.
  • Tendon damage: Levofloxacin has been associated with an increased risk of tendonitis (inflammation of tendons) and tendon rupture, particularly in older adults and those with a history of tendon disorders. Stop taking levofloxacin and seek medical attention immediately if you experience any tendon pain, swelling, or difficulty moving.
  • Central nervous system and psychiatric effects: Rarely, levofloxacin may cause central nervous system effects such as seizures, confusion, hallucinations, and depression. If you experience any unusual changes in mood or behavior, seek medical attention.

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Allergies, kidney or liver problems, diabetes, epilepsy, or a history of tendon disorders
  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids while taking levofloxacin to prevent dehydration. Adequate hydration can help reduce the risk of certain side effects, such as kidney problems.
  • Watch for signs of tendon problems: Levofloxacin has been associated with an increased risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture, particularly in older adults and those with a history of tendon disorders. If you experience tendon pain, swelling, or difficulty moving, stop taking levofloxacin and seek medical attention immediately.
  • Be cautious with sun exposure: Levofloxacin may increase your sensitivity to sunlight, leading to sunburn or skin rash. Protect yourself from excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen when outdoors.

Prior to taking this medicine, tell your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or if you have some other hypersensitivities. This drug may contain inert ingredients which can cause unfavorable side effects or different issues. Talk with your pharmacist for more information.

Interactions

Wilovex may interact with the following medicines:

  • Antacids, iron, zinc, sucralfate, or multivitamins containing minerals: These substances can bind to levofloxacin and reduce its absorption.
  • It is recommended to take levofloxacin at least 2 hours before or after taking these products.
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): Taking NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen, with levofloxacin may increase the risk of central nervous system side effects, such as seizures or confusion. Use caution when taking these medications together and consult your healthcare provider.
  • Warfarin and other blood thinners: Levofloxacin can interact with blood thinners, increasing the risk of bleeding. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your blood clotting levels more closely if you are taking both medications.
  • Theophylline: Levofloxacin can increase the levels of theophylline in your body, potentially leading to toxic effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your theophylline dosage and monitor your blood levels.
  • Oral antidiabetic medications: Levofloxacin can affect blood sugar levels and may require adjustments in the dosage of oral antidiabetic medications. It is important to monitor your blood sugar levels closely while taking these medications together.
  • QT-prolonging medications: Levofloxacin has the potential to prolong the QT interval in the heart, which can increase the risk of serious irregular heart rhythms. Avoid taking other medications known to prolong the QT interval, such as certain antiarrhythmics, antipsychotics, and antidepressants, without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Caffeine: Levofloxacin may increase the effects of caffeine, potentially leading to nervousness, restlessness, or an irregular heartbeat. Limit your caffeine intake while taking levofloxacin.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.

This is not a complete list of drug interactions. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more details.

The effects of certain medications can change if you consume different medications or herbal products simultaneously. This can build your risk for side effects or may cause your drugs not to work effectively. These interactions are conceivable, yet don’t generally happen. Your physician or pharmacist can prevent or oversee interactions by changing how you utilize your prescriptions or by close checking.

While utilizing this drug, don’t start, stop, or change the dose of other medicines you are using without your physician’s advice.

If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor right away.
