HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS 9-VALENT VACCINE

WILOPRES

Wilopres is used in the following conditions:

  • Blood Pressure Control: Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps relax blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the body eliminate excess fluid and sodium, reducing blood volume. Together, losartan and hydrochlorothiazide work synergistically to lower blood pressure, helping to reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other cardiovascular complications.
  • Edema: Hydrochlorothiazide, as a diuretic, can also help reduce fluid retention or edema associated with certain conditions, such as congestive heart failure or kidney disorders.
  • Kidney Protection: Losartan, in addition to its blood pressure-lowering effects, may offer kidney protection. It is commonly prescribed to patients with diabetes and high blood pressure to help preserve kidney function.
  • Combination Therapy: Combining losartan and hydrochlorothiazide into a single medication can provide convenience and simplify the treatment regimen, as it addresses both blood pressure control and fluid retention simultaneously.
  • Individualized Treatment: The dosage and treatment plan will be determined by your healthcare professional based on your specific medical condition and response to the medication.Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide is a prescription medication, and it is important to take it exactly as directed by your healthcare professional. Regular blood pressure monitoring and follow-up appointments are necessary to ensure the medication is effectively controlling your blood pressure and to make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

This medicine may be recommended for different uses. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more information.

Do not use Wilopres in people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity: If you have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any other ingredients in the medication, it is contraindicated. Signs of hypersensitivity may include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. In such cases, an alternative medication should be considered.
  • Anuric Patients: Anuric patients, meaning those who are unable to produce urine, should not take losartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Since hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that promotes urine production, it would not be effective in patients who cannot produce urine.
  • Severe Renal Impairment: If you have severe kidney impairment (renal failure) or are on dialysis, losartan and hydrochlorothiazide may not be recommended. The medication could potentially worsen kidney function or lead to electrolyte imbalances.
  • Severe Hepatic Impairment: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide should be used with caution or avoided if you have severe liver impairment. The medication’s clearance may be reduced in such cases, leading to potential accumulation and increased risk of side effects.
  • Pregnancy: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide are not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters. They can cause harm or even death to the developing fetus. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, it is important to inform your healthcare professional immediately.
  • Breastfeeding: It is not advised to use losartan and hydrochlorothiazide while breastfeeding, as the medication can pass into breast milk and potentially harm the nursing infant. Alternative options should be discussed with your healthcare professional.

Wilopres may have the following side effects:

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness: You may experience dizziness or a feeling of lightheadedness, especially when standing up quickly. It is recommended to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to minimize this effect.
  • Fatigue or tiredness: Some individuals may experience fatigue or a general feeling of tiredness while taking this medication.
  • Hypotension: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide may cause low blood pressure, especially at the beginning of treatment or with higher doses. Symptoms of low blood pressure may include dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or blurred vision.
  • Electrolyte imbalances: Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that can cause changes in electrolyte levels, such as low levels of potassium, sodium, or magnesium. This can lead to symptoms like muscle cramps, weakness, irregular heartbeat, or excessive thirst.
  • Increased urination: Hydrochlorothiazide is known to increase urine production, which can result in more frequent urination.
  • Dry cough: Although rare, some individuals may experience a dry cough while taking losartan. If the cough becomes bothersome, it is important to consult your healthcare professional.
  • Allergic reactions: In rare cases, losartan and hydrochlorothiazide can cause allergic reactions. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

This is not a complete list of side effects. If you see other effects not recorded above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Dehydration: Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that increases urine production. It is important to maintain adequate hydration while taking this medication to prevent dehydration. Drink enough fluids, especially in hot weather or during physical activity.
  • Electrolyte Imbalances: Hydrochlorothiazide can cause changes in electrolyte levels, such as low levels of potassium, sodium, or magnesium. Your healthcare professional may monitor your electrolyte levels periodically, especially if you have a history of electrolyte imbalances or are taking other medications that can affect electrolyte levels.
  • Kidney Function: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide should be used with caution in individuals with impaired kidney function. Your healthcare professional may adjust the dosage or choose alternative treatment options if needed.
  • Liver Function: Individuals with liver impairment may require special monitoring while taking losartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Your healthcare professional will consider the potential risks and benefits and may adjust the dosage accordingly.
  • Dual Blockade of the Renin-Angiotensin System: Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks the effects of a hormone called angiotensin II. It is not recommended to use losartan and hydrochlorothiazide together with another medication that acts on the renin-angiotensin system, such as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Combining these medications may increase the risk of low blood pressure, kidney problems, and hyperkalemia (high potassium levels).
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide are not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, as they can harm the developing fetus. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, inform your healthcare professional immediately. It is also not advised to use this medication while breastfeeding, as it can pass into breast milk and potentially harm the nursing infant.

Prior to taking this medicine, tell your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or if you have some other hypersensitivities. This drug may contain inert ingredients which can cause unfavorable side effects or different issues. Talk with your pharmacist for more information.

Interactions

Wilopres may interact with the following medicines:

  • Other Medications Affecting Blood Pressure: Combining losartan and hydrochlorothiazide with other medications that lower blood pressure, such as diuretics, beta-blockers, or ACE inhibitors, may increase the risk of low blood pressure. Your healthcare professional may need to adjust the dosage or monitor your blood pressure more closely.
  • Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs): NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen, may reduce the effectiveness of losartan in lowering blood pressure. Additionally, NSAIDs, when combined with hydrochlorothiazide, may increase the risk of kidney problems. It is advisable to consult your healthcare professional before using NSAIDs while taking losartan and hydrochlorothiazide.
  • Lithium: Hydrochlorothiazide can increase the levels of lithium in the body, potentially leading to lithium toxicity. If you are taking lithium, your healthcare professional may need to monitor your lithium levels more closely and adjust your dosage accordingly.
  • Potassium-Sparing Diuretics or Potassium Supplements: Combining losartan and hydrochlorothiazide with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements may increase the risk of high potassium levels in your blood. Regular monitoring of potassium levels may be necessary.
  • Digoxin: Hydrochlorothiazide can decrease the excretion of digoxin, leading to increased levels of digoxin in the body. Your healthcare professional may adjust the dosage of digoxin if you are taking it concurrently with losartan and hydrochlorothiazide.
  • Diabetes Medications: Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide may affect blood sugar levels, so adjustments in diabetes medications, such as insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents, may be needed. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is important.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.

This is not a complete list of drug interactions. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more details.

The effects of certain medications can change if you consume different medications or herbal products simultaneously. This can build your risk for side effects or may cause your drugs not to work effectively. These interactions are conceivable, yet don’t generally happen. Your physician or pharmacist can prevent or oversee interactions by changing how you utilize your prescriptions or by close checking.

While utilizing this drug, don’t start, stop, or change the dose of other medicines you are using without your physician’s advice.

If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor right away.
