HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS 9-VALENT VACCINE

PANMIKIN

Panmikin is used in the following conditions:

  • Bacterial infections: Panmikin is often used to treat infections caused by susceptible gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter species. It may be used to treat urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, sepsis, intra-abdominal infections, and bone and joint infections.
  • Tuberculosis (TB): Panmikin is sometimes used as part of a combination therapy for the treatment of drug-resistant tuberculosis. It is used when other first-line medications are not effective or when there is drug resistance.
  • Endocarditis: Panmikin may be used in combination with other antibiotics to treat bacterial endocarditis, which is an infection of the inner lining of the heart.
  • Meningitis: In some cases, Panmikin may be used to treat meningitis, a serious infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. However, it is usually reserved for drug-resistant cases or when other antibiotics are ineffective.

This medicine may be recommended for different uses. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more information.

Do not use Panmikin in people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity: Panmikin should not be used in individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to the medication or any other aminoglycoside antibiotics.
  • Myasthenia gravis: Panmikin should be used with caution in individuals with myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder that causes muscle weakness. It can exacerbate muscle weakness in these individuals.
  • Pre-existing hearing or kidney problems: Panmikin can potentially cause or worsen hearing loss or kidney damage. Therefore, it should be used with caution in individuals with pre-existing hearing impairment, kidney disease, or those who are at an increased risk of these complications.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Panmikin should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is generally recommended to weigh the potential benefits against the risks and consult with a healthcare professional before using the medication in these situations.

Panmikin may have the following side effects:

  • Kidney damage: Panmikin can potentially cause kidney damage, especially if used for prolonged periods or at high doses. Monitoring of kidney function is important during treatment.
  • Hearing loss: Panmikin is known to cause hearing loss, particularly in high doses or with prolonged use. This side effect may be irreversible.
  • Balance and coordination problems: Some individuals may experience difficulty with balance and coordination while taking Panmikin. This can increase the risk of falls or accidents.
  • Nausea and vomiting: Gastrointestinal upset, including nausea and vomiting, is a common side effect of Panmikin.
  • Injection site reactions: If Panmikin is given by injection, it may cause local irritation or pain at the injection site.
  • Allergic reactions: Although rare, allergic reactions to Panmikin can occur. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If any of these symptoms occur, medical attention should be sought immediately.
  • Neurotoxicity: Panmikin can potentially cause neurotoxicity, leading to symptoms such as numbness, tingling, muscle twitching, or seizures.
  • Blood abnormalities: Panmikin can affect blood cell counts, leading to decreased levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. This can increase the risk of anemia, infections, or bleeding.

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

This is not a complete list of side effects. If you see other effects not recorded above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Renal function: Panmikin is primarily eliminated by the kidneys, so it is crucial to monitor kidney function regularly during treatment. Dose adjustments may be necessary in individuals with impaired renal function to prevent potential kidney damage.
  • Hearing function: Panmikin can cause hearing loss, particularly with prolonged use or at high doses. Regular hearing tests are recommended, especially in individuals receiving treatment for an extended period. If any signs of hearing impairment, such as ringing in the ears or difficulty hearing, occur, it is important to inform your healthcare provider.
  • Neuromuscular disorders: Panmikin can worsen muscle weakness in individuals with pre-existing neuromuscular disorders, such as myasthenia gravis. Caution should be exercised when using Panmikin in these patients, and close monitoring of muscle strength is necessary.
  • Allergies: If you have a known allergy to Panmikin or any other aminoglycoside antibiotics, it is important to inform your healthcare provider. They can prescribe an alternative medication that is safe for you to use.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Panmikin should only be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding if the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks. It is crucial to discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider before using Panmikin in these situations.
  • Other medications: Panmikin may interact with certain medications, including other antibiotics, diuretics, and medications that can affect kidney function. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions.
  • Bacterial susceptibility: Panmikin is intended for the treatment of certain bacterial infections. It is important to ensure that the specific bacteria causing the infection are susceptible to Panmikin. Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate antibiotic based on the results of bacterial culture and sensitivity testing.

Prior to taking this medicine, tell your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or if you have some other hypersensitivities. This drug may contain inert ingredients which can cause unfavorable side effects or different issues. Talk with your pharmacist for more information.

Interactions

Panmikin may interact with the following medicines:

  • Other aminoglycoside antibiotics: Concurrent use of Panmikin with other aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as gentamicin or tobramycin, can increase the risk of toxicity. It is generally recommended to avoid using multiple aminoglycosides at the same time.
  • Loop diuretics: When used together, Panmikin and loop diuretics (e.g., furosemide) can increase the risk of kidney damage. Monitoring of kidney function and adjustment of the dosage may be necessary.
  • Nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents: Panmikin can potentiate the effects of nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents, which are used during surgeries to induce muscle relaxation. Close monitoring of muscle relaxation and neuromuscular function is necessary when these medications are used together.
  • Drugs that affect kidney function: Medications that can affect kidney function, such as certain diuretics or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), may increase the risk of kidney damage when used concurrently with Panmikin. Close monitoring of kidney function is important in such cases.
  • Vaccines: Panmikin can potentially reduce the effectiveness of live vaccines. It is generally recommended to complete any necessary vaccinations before starting Panmikin treatment or to delay vaccination until after completion of Panmikin therapy.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.

This is not a complete list of drug interactions. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more details.

The effects of certain medications can change if you consume different medications or herbal products simultaneously. This can build your risk for side effects or may cause your drugs not to work effectively. These interactions are conceivable, yet don’t generally happen. Your physician or pharmacist can prevent or oversee interactions by changing how you utilize your prescriptions or by close checking.

While utilizing this drug, don’t start, stop, or change the dose of other medicines you are using without your physician’s advice.

If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor right away.
