METHDILAZINE

Methdilazine is a first-generation phenothiazine compound that has an antihistamine and antimuscarinic effect.  It is a potential serotonin-antagonist that gives temporary relief of the negative symptoms.

  • Drowsiness
  • Central nervous system depression
  • Paradoxical excitation (children)
  • Dry mouth
  • Blurring of vision
  • Constipation
  • Retention of urine
  • Bradycardia followed by tachycardia and arrhythmias
  • Gastrointestinal disturbances
  • Blood dyscrasias
  • Giddiness
  • Hypotension
  • Headache
  • Asthma
  • Tremors
  •  Photosensitivity
  • Jaundice
  • Menstrual disorders

 

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.
