KASTORION

Do not use Kastorion in people with the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity: Kastorion should not be used in individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to the medication or any of its components. If you have experienced an allergic reaction to Kastorion in the past, it is important to let your healthcare provider know.
• Severe liver disease: Kastorion should be used with caution in individuals with severe liver disease. The medication is primarily metabolized in the liver, so impaired liver function can affect its clearance from the body. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dosage or closely monitor your liver function if you have severe liver disease.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: The use of Kastorion during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not well studied. While there is limited evidence suggesting that Kastorion may be safe to use during pregnancy, it is generally recommended to avoid its use unless the potential benefits outweigh the potential risks. As for breastfeeding, it is not known whether Kastorion is excreted in breast milk, so caution is advised.

Kastorion may have the following side effects:

• Gastrointestinal symptoms: These can include nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, and indigestion.
• Headache: Some individuals may experience headaches while taking Kastorion.
• Respiratory symptoms: In rare cases, Kastorion has been associated with symptoms such as cough, wheezing, and worsening of asthma symptoms. If you experience any respiratory symptoms, it is important to seek medical attention.

Interactions

Kastorion may interact with the following medicines:

• Aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): Co-administration of Kastorion with aspirin or NSAIDs may increase the risk of asthma-related complications. It’s important to discuss the use of these medications with your healthcare provider, especially if you have asthma.
• Warfarin and other blood thinners: Kastorion may increase the effects of blood thinners, such as warfarin, and increase the risk of bleeding. Close monitoring of blood clotting parameters may be necessary if you are taking both medications.
• Theophylline: Kastorion may increase the blood levels of theophylline, a medication used to treat respiratory conditions. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust the dosage of theophylline if you are taking it with Kastorion.
• Medications that suppress the immune system: Kastorion may interact with medications that suppress the immune system, such as corticosteroids or immunosuppressants.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.
