HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS 9-VALENT VACCINE

HELMACON

Helmacon is used in the following conditions:

  • Intestinal Worm Infections: Mebendazole is commonly used to treat infections caused by intestinal worms, including pinworms (Enterobius vermicularis), roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides), whipworms (Trichuris trichiura), and hookworms (Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus). It works by preventing the worms from absorbing essential nutrients, leading to their death and elimination from the body.
  • Threadworm Infections: Mebendazole is particularly effective against threadworm infections (Enterobius vermicularis), also known as pinworm infections. These infections commonly occur in children and can cause itching around the anus or vagina. Mebendazole helps to eradicate the worms and alleviate associated symptoms.
  • Hydatid Disease: Mebendazole can be used as a part of the treatment for hydatid disease, a condition caused by the larval stage of the tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. It helps to prevent the growth and spread of the tapeworm cysts in various organs, such as the liver and lungs.

This medicine may be recommended for different uses. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more information.

Do not use Helmacon in people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity: Individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergy to mebendazole or any of its components should not take this medication. Allergic reactions can range from mild skin rashes to more severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Mebendazole is generally not recommended during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, due to limited data on its safety. It is also not recommended while breastfeeding, as it is excreted in breast milk. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is important to discuss the potential risks and benefits with your healthcare provider before using mebendazole.
  • Liver Disease: Mebendazole is primarily metabolized in the liver, so individuals with severe liver disease may have reduced clearance of the medication. This can increase the risk of adverse effects or toxicity. Close monitoring and dosage adjustments may be necessary in such cases.
  • Children Under One Year: Mebendazole is generally not recommended for use in children under one year of age. The safety and effectiveness of mebendazole in this age group have not been well established.
  • Concomitant Use of Metronidazole: Taking mebendazole in combination with metronidazole, another medication used to treat certain infections, may increase the risk of neurological side effects. Therefore, concurrent use of these medications should be avoided unless specifically directed by a healthcare provider.

Helmacon may have the following side effects:

  • Gastrointestinal Effects: The most common side effects of mebendazole are related to the gastrointestinal system. These can include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence. These symptoms are usually mild and transient.
  • Allergic Reactions: While rare, allergic reactions to mebendazole can occur. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.
  • Liver Effects: In rare cases, mebendazole can cause liver problems. Symptoms may include yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, pale stools, abdominal pain, or unusual tiredness. If you experience any of these symptoms, stop taking mebendazole and consult your healthcare provider.
  • Blood Disorders: Mebendazole has been associated with rare cases of blood disorders, such as agranulocytosis (severe reduction in white blood cells) or aplastic anemia (decrease in red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets). If you notice any signs of infection (e.g., fever, sore throat) or unexplained bruising or bleeding, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
  • Neurological Effects: Although rare, mebendazole has been associated with neurological effects, such as dizziness, headache, or seizures. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your healthcare provider.

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

This is not a complete list of side effects. If you see other effects not recorded above, contact your physician or pharmacist.

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Allergies: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any known allergies to mebendazole or any other medications. If you have experienced an allergic reaction to mebendazole in the past, it is important to avoid using it.
  • Medical history: Discuss your medical history with your healthcare provider, especially if you have any liver disease, kidney disease, or any other underlying health conditions. Mebendazole may require dosage adjustments or close monitoring in these cases.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider before using mebendazole. The use of mebendazole during pregnancy should be carefully evaluated, weighing the benefits against the potential risks. It is not recommended to use mebendazole while breastfeeding.
  • Children: Mebendazole is generally considered safe for use in children, but it is important to follow the dosing instructions provided by your healthcare provider and consult with them for appropriate use in pediatric patients.
  • Drug interactions: Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal supplements. Some medications may interact with mebendazole, potentially affecting its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects.
  • Follow dosage instructions: Take mebendazole exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Do not change the dosage or stop taking the medication without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Store properly: Store mebendazole at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Follow the storage instructions provided by the manufacturer.

Prior to taking this medicine, tell your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to it, or if you have some other hypersensitivities. This drug may contain inert ingredients which can cause unfavorable side effects or different issues. Talk with your pharmacist for more information.

Interactions

Helmacon may interact with the following medicines:

  • Allergies: Inform your healthcare provider if you have any known allergies to mebendazole or any other medications. Also, let them know if you have experienced any allergic reactions in the past. This will help determine if mebendazole is suitable for you.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding, it is important to discuss the use of mebendazole with your healthcare provider. They can assess the potential risks and benefits and determine if it is safe for you to use during these periods.
  • Other medications: Inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are currently taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, as well as any herbal supplements or vitamins. Certain medications, such as metronidazole, may interact with mebendazole and increase the risk of side effects.
  • Liver function: If you have liver disease or any pre-existing liver conditions, it is important to inform your healthcare provider. Mebendazole is primarily metabolized in the liver, so dosage adjustments or close monitoring may be necessary in such cases.
  • Children under one year: Mebendazole is generally not recommended for use in children under one year of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been well established.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.
This is not a complete list of drug interactions. Approach your physician or pharmacist for more details.

The effects of certain medications can change if you consume different medications or herbal products simultaneously. This can build your risk for side effects or may cause your drugs not to work effectively. These interactions are conceivable, yet don’t generally happen. Your physician or pharmacist can prevent or oversee interactions by changing how you utilize your prescriptions or by close checking.

While utilizing this drug, don’t start, stop, or change the dose of other medicines you are using without your physician’s advice.

If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor right away.
