Jakob-Creutzfeldt disease (JCD) is a regressive brain illness that causes insanity and eventually death. It gained notoriety in the 1990s when some persons in the United Kingdom contracted a version of the disorder called variant CJD (vCJD) after consuming infected cattle meat. It’s a brain disease that’s both uncommon and severe. Moreover, it frequently creates brain damage that aggravates over time.
Since CJD is probably the most common configuration of dementia, it can be hard to detect. Only a tiny portion of brain tissue may be tested to begin treatment, which can be done via brain biopsy or autopsy.
