HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS 9-VALENT VACCINE

IBRUTINIB

Ibrutinib is a drug that is used in decreasing the risks in developing certain types of cancers, including skin cancer and of other organs. It is very important to consult the doctor about the risks of taking this drug, it could be a capsule or tablet that is taken through the mouth once a day. Take this drug at around the same time every day. Be sure that you follow the prescriptions of the doctor or pharmacist so that the drug will work as expected. Swallow the tablet/capsule whole with a glass of water, and do not open, break, or chew it. Take this drug exactly as directed to avoid side effects.

This is a prescription drug. You may take your dose of ibrutinib before you receive obinutuzumab injection or rituximab injections. Lowering the dose, interruption or discontinuation of treatment may also be advised, but this will depend on how the medication works in the body and the side effects that may occur. It is very important to update the doctor about the occurrence of side effects. Continue to take this drug even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this on your own or with no guidance of a specialist.

Ibrutinib is used in the following conditions:

    • Mantle cell lymphoma
    • Marginal zone lymphoma
    • Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia
    • Small lymphocytic lymphoma
    • Chronic graft versus host disease
    • Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia

Do not use Ibrutinib in people with the following conditions:

  • Severe hepatic impairment
  • Lactation

Ibrutinib may have the following side effects:

  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Weakness
  • Neutropenia
  • Dry eye syndrome
  • Blurred vision
  • Hypoalbuminaemia
  • Sepsis
  • Arthralgia
  • Peripheral edema
  • Anxiety
  • UTI
  • Epistaxis
  • Haemorrhage

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Patient with cardiac risk factors
  • Hypertension
  • Acute infections
  • History of atrial fibrillation
  • Patients taking moderate or strong CY3A4 inhibitors
  • Renal and mild to moderate hepatic impairment
  • Pregnancy

Ibrutinib may interact with the following medicines:

    • Ketoconazole
    • Rifampicin
    • Vaccines
    • Antiplatelets
    • Warfarin
