VAGINITIS TRICHOMONIASIS

VAGINITIS TRICHOMONIASIS

Vaginitis trichomoniasis or trich is a usual sexually transmitted disease or STD. Trichomoniasis is caused by a small single-cell parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. Anybody active in sex can acquire it. It influences females more than males, elderly females more than teenage ones.

Individuals with trich frequently don’t have signs, and it doesn’t commonly cause issues. However, if you don’t get medical care, it increases the risk of obtaining STD, such as HIV

What is the cause of vaginitis trichomoniasis?

You can get trich through sex with somebody who has carried it. Generally, it will spread through the contact of the penis and vagina. The same sex can also get trich if they have vaginal contact.

Females can acquire the infection in their cervix, vagina, urethra, or vulva. Male commonly acquire the infection in their urethra. It is rare to have vaginitis trichomoniasis in other parts of the body, like the mouth, anus, or hands.

Trich can be spread to anyone, even if they don’t experience symptoms.

SYMPTOMS

Vaginitis trichomoniasis often has no signs. When symptoms do happen, they frequently starts at 5 to 30 days after sex. And for others, it can take longer.

The most usual symptoms in the female are the following:

  • Vaginal discharges either white, green, gray, and commonly have a displeasing smell.
  • Burning sensation
  • Swelling
  • Itching
  • Painful urination
  • Frequent urination

The most usual symptoms in men are the following:

  • Discharge in the urethra
  • Burning sensation
  • Frequent urination
  • Pain after ejaculation

DIAGNOSIS

The diagnosis of trich can’t be determined by its symptoms alone. Since trich is similar to those who have STIs. Anybody who thinks they get trich must see a medical care for a laboratory and physical tests.

These are the tests that can diagnose trichomoniasis:

  • Antigen tests
  • Test for vaginal fluid and discharge
  • Test for urine under a microscope
  • Cell cultures

TREATMENT

The treatment for trich can be healed with antibiotics. Your healthcare provider may suggest tinidazole or metronidazole. Your doctor may ask you to stop drinking any alcohol after taking the antibiotics since it can cause vomiting and nausea.

It is important to ensure that your partners are checked and taking medication for trich. Not experiencing symptoms doesn’t define that they don’t have it. You will be required to avoid contact with your partner after you’ve been treated.
