TYPE B FLU

Type B Flu is a highly contagious disease cause by the influenza virus. Unlike Type A flu viruses, type B flu is found only in humans and may cause less severe reaction. However, this type might also be extremely harmful.

The symptoms of type B flu are similar to the symptoms of type A but milder. It may include:

  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Runny Nose
  • Congestion
  • Sore Throat
  • Muscle Aches
  • Nonproductive Cough

Symptoms in children may include nausea and vomiting.

DIAGNOSIS

To diagnose type B flu, the doctor might perform laboratory tests. In addition to diagnosis is flu testing. One common flu test is the rapid influenza diagnostic tests.

 

TREATMENT

Treatment for this infection is basically to manage and relieve symptoms. This may include:

  • Decongestants
  • Pain Relievers
  • Nasal Saline Sprays
  • Neti Pot

Generally, the virus will clear on its own in a few weeks.
