RECOMBINANT HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS (HPV) NONAVALENT VACCINE

This medication is a vaccine approved to prevent some conditions caused by certain types of HPV. The vaccine protects against nine different types of HPV.

It is used in females aged 9 to 26 years and males aged 9 to 15 years to prevent the following:

  • Anal cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Vaginal cancer
  • Vulvar cancer
  • Lesions that sometimes lead to anal, cervical, vaginal, or vulvar cancer
  • Genital warts

This vaccine is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your health care professional for more details.

Some of the side effects that can occur with human papillomavirus vaccine may not need medical attention. Your body will soon adjusts to the medicine during treatment and these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects. If any of the following side effects continue, are bothersome or if you have any questions about them, check with your health care professional.

Precautions

This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Tell your health care professional your medical history as well as if you have allergies to yeast or to other vaccines so you can avoid complications.
