OMOCONAZOLE

Omoconazole is a drug that is known as an imidazole antifungal. It results to the disruption of ergosterol synthesis that occurs in the cell membranes of fungi. It is usually applied externally as a cream, powder or solution.

Omoconazole is used in the treatment of the following skin conditions:

  • Vaginal candidiasis
  • Skin candidiasis
  • Dermatophytosis
  • Pityriasis

Do not give to people who have allergic reactions to imidazole antifungals.

Omoconazole can give rise to the following side effects:

  • Skin irritation
  • Erythema
  • Burning sensation

Precautions

Take extra precautions in people with the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Do not apply to infants.

 

Interactions

There are no drug interactions that are known with Omoconazole.
