LATANOPROSTENE BUNOD

Latanoprostene bunod is a synthetic counterpart of naturally occurring prostaglandin F2 that donates nitric oxide. It is a prodrug that is considered to reduce intraocular pressure by increasing aqueous humour outflow through both the trabecular meshwork (conventional route mediated by nitric oxide) and the uveoscleral pathway (nonconventional route mediated by latanoprost acid).
