LATANOPROSTENE BUNOD

Latanoprostene bunod is a synthetic counterpart of naturally occurring prostaglandin F2 that donates nitric oxide. It’s a prodrug that’s hypothesized to reduce intraocular pressure by increasing aqueous humor outflow via both the trabecular meshwork (traditional route mediated by nitric oxide) and the uveoscleral pathway (nontraditional route mediated by latanoprost acid).

Latanoprostene bunod may have the following side effects:

  • Changes in the growth, length, thickness, quantity, and pigmentation of the eyelashes
  • Increased or changed pigmentation of the iris and eyelid skin
  • Intraocular inflammation
  • Cystoid macular edema
  • Keratitis caused by bacteria
  • Blurred vision
  • Punctate keratitis
  • Freign body sensation
  • Conjunctival hyperemia
  • Eye irritation or pain
  • Instillation site pain
  • Conjunctival oedema

  • Ophthalmic bimatoprost
  • Topical bimatoprost
  • Ophthalmic latanoprost
  • Ophthalmic tafluprost
  • Ophthalmic Travoprost
  • Ophthalmic unoprostone
