HUMAN ALBUMIN

Description: Human albumin increases plasma volume or serum albumin levels.

  • Treatment of shock due to blood loss in the body, burns, low protein levels due to surgery or liver failure, and as an additional medicine in bypass surgery.

How to use:

  • Always refer to your doctors instructions before taking this medication. Duration and dosage will be determined by your medical condition and its response to the medication. Make sure to take this medication in the prescribed amount and time period even after symptoms disappear. Discontinuing the medication before completion of treatment may cause incomplete treatment of condition. If Symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
  • Usually administered via injection by a healthcare professional.

Serious side effects (inform your doctor immediately)

  • Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); change in heart rate or breathing; chills; confusion; excess saliva; fainting; fever; headache; nausea; vomiting; weakness.
  • Inform your doctor.
    • Allergy to the medication or any allergies.
    • Medical History of a current pregnancy or planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, heart failure, kidney failure or stable chronic anemia, or risk for fluid overload.
  • If you are planning to be pregnant or think you may be pregnant, discuss the risks and benefits of use with your doctor.
  • Before breast-feeding, consult your physician.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.

Storage:

  • Room temperature or below 30 degrees C
  • Do not expose to light and moisture
  • Do not store in the bathroom
  • Keep all medications away from pets and children
