ENCAINIDE

Encainide is an antiarrhythmic drug that has the its ability to slow conduction, reduce membrane responsiveness, inhibit automaticity, and increase the ratio of the effective refractory period to action potential duration. This is indicated for the treatment of documented ventricular arrhythmias such as sustained ventricular tachycardia.

Uses

This medication is used for conditions like cardiac arrhythmias.

Warnings

This drug is not recommended for patients with preexisting second or third degree AV block and hypersensitivity.
