DENTURES (FALSE TEETH)

Dentures are removable false teeth made of plastic or other materials such as nylon. They fit cozily in the gums to supplant missing teeth and dispose of potential issues caused by holes.

Holes left by tooth loss can cause issues with eating, and the remaining teeth in the sides may overlap with each other. Now and again one or more teeth should be removed and supplanted.

Dentures can deal with eating problems, speech problems and can improve the shape of your jawline so that you can smile confidently.

There are two types of dentures: partial and complete.

  • Complete dentures are a full set to replace all the upper or lower teeth.
  • Partial dentures just replace one tooth or a few missing teeth.

A partial denture can be used to fill one or more missing teeth. It can be attached to the teeth and mouth with metal clips that can easily be removed.

A complete denture will be used to fill all of your upper or lower teeth. The denture will be fitted after all of your teeth will be removed. It will fit cozily in your gums and jawbone.

TREATMENT

Dentures can be made by a dentist or dental technician that will fit in your mouth.

Dentures may feel somewhat strange in the first place, however you’ll before long become accustomed to wearing them. You should always wear your dentures, even when sleeping, initially. Your dentist will tell you when to wear them and when to remove them. Remember to practice good hygiene for your remaining teet and remove food and other debris from your dentures with a cleansing solution. You should brush your remaining teeth with a good flouride-containing toothpaste at lwast two times a day to prevent tooth decay, gun problems and other teeth issues. When not in use, you can store your dentures in a cleansing solution or in a moist container with a cleansing solution. Your dentist will advise you on how to clean your dentures.
