CALSAN

Calsan is used in the following conditions:

  • The treatment of acid indigestion and heartburn
  • As a dietary supplement for calcium deficiency
  • As an antacid to relieve heartburn, sour stomach, and acid indigestion
  • To reduce phosphate levels in people with kidney disease
  • To reduce high blood pressure To reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis
  • To increase bone density
  • To reduce the risk of developing kidney stones
  • As an additive in food products
  • To reduce the risk of developing certain types of cancers
  • To reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack

Do not use Calsan in people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity

Calcium carbonate is generally safe to take and has few contraindications. It is important to discuss any existing medical conditions with a doctor before taking calcium carbonate. In particular, it is not recommended for people with kidney disease, hypercalcemia, or sarcoidosis. People taking certain medications, such as digoxin, should not take calcium carbonate. Pregnant women and children should also not take calcium carbonate without consulting a doctor.

Calsan may have the following side effects:

  • Common side effects of calcium carbonate include constipation, nausea, gas, bloating, and increased thirst
  • More serious side effects include confusion, muscle weakness, and irregular heartbeat
  • Long-term use of calcium carbonate may also increase the risk of kidney stones.

Keep in mind that your physician has recommended this drug since he or she has known that the advantage to you is more noteworthy than the risk of adverse reactions. Many individuals utilizing this medicine don’t have serious side effects.
