CAFFEINE HEADACHES

Caffeine is a substance known for its activating effect in our body, especially in our brain. It causes adrenaline rush, thus making us feel awake and not tired. Caffeine is found in coffee, tea, chocolate, and in many sodas and colas. Many of us like taking in these drinks more than we should, and some of us may have already developed an addiction for caffeine because of this.

Too much caffeine has its side effects – faitgue and headache.

But  withdrawing from caffeine also has the same result.

  1. Caffeine-induced headache. This headache occurs when we take in too much caffeine in a short period of time. This may result to a caffeine overdose.
  1. Caffeine withdrawal headache. When you are addicted to caffeine – consuming 500mg or every day for two weeks – and suddenly stopped (or reduce the amount you take in), most likely, it will result to a caffeine withdrawal headache, the most common caffeine headache.
  1. Allergic-like headache. This occurs to someone who is sensitive to caffeine. It is like an allergic reaction to the substance. But this is the least common kind of headache caused by caffeine.
