ORGOTEIN

Orgotein is a bovine-derived copper-zinc superoxide dismutase. Superoxide dimustases are water-soluble protein congeners which catalyze the conversion of superoxide radicals to peroxide. Orgotein also has anti-inflammatory properties.

Uses

Orgotein is used in the treatment of degenerative joint disorders.

Warnings

Orgotein should not be given to patients with hypersensitivity to the drug.

A patient with diabetes or hypertension needs to be warned about a few drug interactions. Certain medications should be avoided in a pregnant or breastfeeding woman. A few drugs should be avoided by patient with hepatitis or cardiac diseases.

Side Effects

Orgotein may bring about side effects such as local reactions and pain at the injection site.

A side effect of a drug does not only vary from drug to drug, but it also depends on the dose of the drug you take. Do not forget to share with your healthcare practitioner if you feel any side effect that troubles you.

Potentially fatal side effects are hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions.
