L-ALANYL-L-GLUTAMINE

L-alanyl-L-glutamine is a substance that can be broken down into the glutamine and alanine. It is known as a dipeptide molecule. It is said to boost performance.

L-alanyl-L-glutamine is often a part of a parenteral nutrition regimen. It is usually given in hypermetabolic states.

L-alanyl-L-glutamine should not be given to people with the following conditions:

  • Kidney problems
  • Liver problems
  • Severe metabolic acidosis

L-alanyl-L-glutamine may have the following side effects:

  • Shivers
  • Nausea
  • Hyperthermia
  • Headache

Precautions

Liver function, electrolytes, acid base status and water balance should be monitored when using this product. Take caution when using during pregnancy and lactation as well as in children. It should not be directly given but mixed with a compatible amino acid carrier solution prior to administration.
