Influenza A H5 is one of the strain of influenza virus that usually affects birds. It is transmitted to human after close and prolonged contact with infected birds or the excretions or secretions of infected birds.
There is no evidence that any human cases of avian influenza have ever been acquired by eating properly cooked poultry products.
