OMALIZUMAB

This drug can cause a very serious (sometimes fatal) allergic reaction. Some occurred after the first dose, some in later doses. Your health care professional will monitor you closely during treatment for any signs of an allergic reaction.

Possible side effects include:

• Bruising
• Redness Or Irritation Where The Shot Is Given
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Runny Nose
• Fever

Seek medical attention promptly if you notice any sign of an allergic reaction (rash, wheezing, tightness in the chest or throat, trouble breathing, swelling of the mouth, face, lips tongue, or throat).

Precautions

Before taking this medication, you must be aware that:

• This medication is not used to treat an asthma attack.
• Allergic reactions to this medication have been reported. You must stay in your doctor’s office for a minimum of 2 hours after then injection is given.
• Long-term use may raise your chance of developing cancer.
• This drug may decrease the effectiveness of the vaccine. Talk with your doctor before getting any vaccines.

Interactions

This medication has no common interactions, but less common interactions exist.

Notify your doctor and pharmacist about all of your medications and health problems so they can check for any interactions with this medication.

Call emergency hotline if someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing.
