GUAIFENESIN AC

Treatment of cough and chest congestion symptoms caused by the common cold, flu, or other breathing illnesses (e.g., sinusitis, bronchitis) by helping thin and loosen mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough up the mucus. Codeine is a narcotic cough suppressant which reduces the urge to cough.

  • facial flushing
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • constipation

  • Allergy to the medication or to narcotic pain relievers (e.g., morphine) or any allergies

 

INTERACTIONS

If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include:

  • fast/slow/irregular heartbeat
  • slow/shallow breathing
  • cold/clammy skin
  • loss of consciousness
