Description: Glycerol is an osmotic dehydrating agent that possesses hygroscopic and lubricating properties. It works by attracting water into the gut, softening stools and relieving constipation

  • Used for weight management,improving exercise performance, managment of diarrhea and vomiting and reducing pressure inside the eye in people with glaucoma.
  • Also used in dehydration prevention
  • May also reduce pressure inside the brain in various conditions including stroke, meningitis, encephalitis, Reye’s syndrome, pseudotumor cerebri, central nervous system (CNS) trauma, and CNS tumors; for reducing brain volume for neurosurgical procedures; and for treating fainting on standing due to poor blood flow to the brain (postural syncope).

    • vomiting
    • thirst
    • and diarrhea.

Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
