Ipratropium + Fenoterol is a combination of two drugs, ipatropium, and fenoterol. Ipatropium is a nonselective antimuscarinic agent. It leads to bronchodilation by hindering the activity of acetylcholine stimulation of guanyl cyclase, subsequently diminishing cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) levels at the parasympathetic site.
Fenoterol is an immediate acting beta-2 sympathomimetic drug. It loosens up bronchial smooth muscles through protein phosphorylation (protein kinase A) by activating adenylate cyclase, consequently expanding cyclic-3′- 5′- adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels.
