LEVONORGESTREL + ETHINYLESTRADIOL

Levonorgestrel + Ethinylestradiol is a combination drug that is made up of levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol. This drug diminishes sperm penetration if ovulation occurs by adjusting cervical bodily fluid; then causes changes in the endometrium which lessen the danger of nidation and may change the tubal transport of eggs through the fallopian tubes. Taking this drug can increase the risk of blood clots, stroke, and heart attacks. One may have more risks if she has high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol and if she is overweight.
