JUVENILE RETINOSCHISIS

Juvenile retinoschisis is an eye condition that causes impaired vision. It starts in childhood and mostly develop in males. The condition affects the retina, which is a light-sensitive tissue that lines the back of the eye. This affects the sharpness of vision. Focal vision is more affected.

Juvenile retinoschisis is caused by mutations in the RS1 gene. It is inherited in an X-linked recessive pattern. This condition can lead to blindness. Surgery might be required for such complications.

TREATMENT
