Capsaicin is the compound found in chilli peppers. It is responsible for the hot feeling when you taste chilli peppers.

Medically it is used as main ingredient in pain relief creams and patches. It is available as lotion, cream, ointment, stick, gel or film. It can be purchased without a prescription over the counter.
