Bivalirudin

Olaparib is a drug that hinders poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) enzymes such as PARP-1, PARP-2, and PARP-3, which are basic in the repair of damaged DNA, and in the regulation of cell cycles and DNA transcription in cancer cells.

Olaparib is used to treat cancer. Its tablets and capsules are used to treat ovarian cancer in women who had no improvement with other treatments.

Olaparib should not be given to women with the following conditions:

Olaparib may have the following side effects:

  • Bone marrow suppression
  • Dysgeusia
  • Peripheral oedema
  • Myalgia
  • Dizziness
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Vulvovaginal disease

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

 

Interactions

Olaparib may interact with the following medicines:

  • Hormonal contraceptives
  • Moderate or severe CYP3A4 inducers
  • Moderate or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
  • Other antineoplastic agents

If overdose is suspected, seek emergency medical help.
