FLUDIAZEPAM

Fludiazepam is a drug that belongs to a class of medicines known as short-acting benzodiazepines. It is similar in action to diazepam. It is used as a short-term remedy for anxiety.

Warnings

Fludiazepam should not be used by patients with the following medical conditions:

Pre-existing central nervous system depression or coma
Respiratory depression
Acute pulmonary insufficiency or sleep apnea
Severe liver impairment
Chronic psychosis
Phobic or obsessional states
Suicide or aggressive behavior
Glaucoma

Muscle weakness and ataxia

Slurred speech
Changes in libido

Special precautions should be observed by people with the following conditions:

Chronic pulmonary insufficiency
Elderly or debilitated patients
Muscle weakness
Impaired liver or kidney function
Patients with personality disorders or organic brain changes
Pregnancy and lactation
History of alcohol or drug addiction due to risk of dependence
Respiratory depression and hypotension

Fludiazepam may interact with the following medicines:

Drugs that have central nervous system depressant properties, such as antidepressants
Antihistamines
Antipsychotics
General anesthetics
Hypnotics or sedatives
Opioid analgesics and cisapride
Alcohol
Drugs which alter the hepatic microsomal enzymes
