VITAMIN B COMPLEX + IRON + BUCLIZINE HCL

The vitamin B complex are essential for the working of certain enzymes in the body. They include thiamine (vitamin B1), riboflavin ( vitamin B2 ), pyridoxine ( vitamin B6 ), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12).

Iron is a mineral that the body needs to produce red blood cells. When the body does not get enough iron, it cannot produce the number of normal red blood cells needed to keep you in good health. This condition is called iron deficiency (iron shortage) or iron deficiency anemia.

Buclizine hydrochloride is an appetite stimulant.

  • Prevention and treatment of vitamin and iron deficiency anemia
  • Appetite stimulant

Activities requiring mental alertness or physical coordination (e.g. operating a machine or driving a motor vehicle) should be avoided since drowsiness may occur with use of buclizine hydrochloride.

Gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and upper abdominal discomfort are seen with high iron doses (greater than 120 mg elemental iron per day). Other undesirable effects may include either diarrhea or constipation. May cause temporary staining of teeth. Stools may appear darker in color.

Interactions

Barbiturates (e.g. phenobarbital), anxiolytics (e.g. diazepam), and alcohol may enhance the depressant effects of buclizine.

Concurrent administration of antacids with oral iron preparations may decrease iron absorption. Antacids and oral iron preparations should be administered as far apart as possible.

Concomitant administration of oral preparations containing iron may interfere with oral absorption of some quinolone anti-infective agents (e.g. ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin) resulting in decreased serum and urine concentrations of the quinolones.

Oral administration of iron preparations inhibits absorption of tetracyclines from the gastrointestinal tract and vice versa. Response to iron therapy may be delayed in patients receiving chloramphenicol.

If overdose is suspected, bring the victim to the nearest hospital right away.
