Udcacid 300 is taken from the digestive system and passes via enterohepatic recirculation. There is 300 mg of ursodeoxycholic acid in each pill. Before becoming eliminated in the bile, it is partially conjugated in the liver. The free and conjugated forms are 7-dehydroxylated by bacteria in the gut to make lithocholic acid. Some of this acid is eliminated directly in the feces, while most of the rest is absorbed by the liver and mostly conjugated and sulfated before being eliminated.
