TEMPER TANTRUMS

A temper tantrum is the outcome of a kid’s disappointment with the daily challenges in life. Maybe your child is experiencing difficulty making sense of something or finishing a particular task. Possibly your kid doesn’t have the vocabulary or can’t express feelings very well. Dissatisfaction may trigger outrage, further bringing about a tantrum.

Instead of over-burdening your child with rules from the beginning, which may disappoint him or her, try to organize those that are intended for safety first and add the other rules later.

Help your child follow rules by childproofing your home and avoiding temptations.

What are the symptoms of a tantrum?

Your child may show at least one of the following symptoms during a temper tantrum:

  • Whining
  • Crying, shouting, and hollering
  • Kicking and hitting
  • Holding their breath
  • Pinching
  • Biting
  • Tensing and whipping their body

Tantrums can be prevented but not treated. There is no correct way to prevent tantrums but you can do a lot of things to prevent this behavior in children.

You can set up a schedule. A reliable routine or schedule tells your child what’s in store and gives them a thought that all is well and good.

Remain calm. It’s critical to stay calm. If possible, don’t give your kids a chance to have a tantrum and don’t respond with anger or outrage. This tells your kid that tantrums are not viable methods for getting attention or getting what they need. Sit tight for a calm time after the tantrums have died down and talk about your child’s behavior

Recognize good behavior  and show praise when your kid carries on well. This will boost good behavior.
