TAMZOR

Do not use Tamzor in people with the following conditions:

• Hypersensitivity: Tamzor should not be used in individuals who have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to Tamzor or any of its components. If you have experienced an allergic reaction to Tamzor or any other medication in the past, it is important to inform your healthcare provider.
• Severe liver disease: Tamzor is primarily metabolized in the liver, so individuals with severe liver disease may have difficulties metabolizing the medication properly. This can lead to an increased risk of side effects. In such cases, alternative treatments may need to be considered.
• Severe kidney disease: Tamzor is primarily excreted through the kidneys, so individuals with severe kidney disease may have difficulties eliminating the medication from their body. This can increase the risk of side effects. Dose adjustments may be necessary in individuals with moderate to severe kidney impairment.
• Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors: Tamzor is metabolized by the CYP3A4 enzyme, and concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir, and grapefruit juice can significantly increase Tamzor blood levels. This can lead to an increased risk of side effects. If you are taking any medications that are strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, it is important to inform your healthcare provider.

Tamzor may have the following side effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness: Tamzor can cause a drop in blood pressure, leading to dizziness or lightheadedness. It is important to avoid activities that require alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, if you experience these symptoms.
• Fainting: In rare cases, Tamzor can cause fainting due to a sudden drop in blood pressure. If you experience fainting, it is important to seek medical attention.
• Headache: Headaches are a common side effect of Tamzor. If the headaches are severe or persistent, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider.
• Runny or stuffy nose: Tamzor can cause nasal congestion, leading to a runny or stuffy nose. This is a common side effect and usually resolves on its own.
• Ejaculation disorders: Tamzor can affect ejaculation in some individuals, leading to a decrease in semen volume or difficulty achieving orgasm. These effects are usually temporary and reversible once the medication is discontinued.
• Back pain: Some individuals may experience back pain while taking Tamzor. If the pain is severe or persistent, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider.

A serious allergy to this medication is uncommon. In any case, seek emergency medical help if you see any manifestations of a serious allergic response, including a rash, tingling or swelling particularly of the face or tongue or throat, dizziness or difficulty in breathing.

• Prostate cancer: Tamzor is primarily used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate, but it does not treat the underlying cause, such as prostate cancer. If you have any concerns about prostate cancer, it’s important to discuss them with your healthcare provider.
• Other medications: Tamzor may interact with other medications, including those used to treat high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, or other alpha-blockers. It’s important to inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements.
• Allergies: If you have a known allergy to Tamzor or any of its components, it’s important to avoid using this medication.
• Pre-existing medical conditions: Tamzor may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions such as liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of orthostatic hypotension. It’s important to inform your healthcare provider about any pre-existing conditions you may have.

Interactions

Tamzor may interact with the following medicines:

• Blood pressure medications: Tamzor can lower blood pressure, so taking it with other medications used to treat high blood pressure may further decrease blood pressure. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dosage or monitor your blood pressure more closely.
• Erectile dysfunction medications: Tamzor can interact with medications used to treat erectile dysfunction, such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), or vardenafil (Levitra). These combinations can lead to a significant drop in blood pressure, so they should be used with caution and under the guidance of a healthcare provider.
• CYP3A4 inhibitors: Tamzor is metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4. Drugs that inhibit this enzyme, such as ketoconazole, erythromycin, or ritonavir, can increase Tamzor levels in the body. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your Tamzor dosage if you are taking any of these medications.
• Anticholinergic drugs: Tamzor and anticholinergic drugs, such as some medications for allergies, asthma, or overactive bladder, can have additive effects on relaxation of smooth muscles. This can increase the risk of side effects like dizziness or low blood pressure.

Inform your physician about the drugs you take including over-the-counter medications, prescribed drugs, supplements and vitamins.
