SKIN PROTECTION FROM THE SUN

SKIN PROTECTION FROM THE SUN

Too much exposure in the sun can cause skin damage in the form of sunburn, wrinkles, and skin aging. Knowing proper skin protection can help you prevent early signs of skin aging like blemishes and can also lower your risk of having skin cancer.

There are different products for skin protection from the sun in the market, but how would you know which one of them is effective?

TYPES

  • Make sure that the sunscreen lotion has an SPFof 30 or more. Use a sunscreen that can protect you from both UVA and UVB every day.
  • Avoid too much sun exposure from 10AM to 4 PM because, during these hours, UVB rays are the strongest and can cause sunburn and other skin problems.
  • If you are going swimming or if you sweat a lot, you may reapply sunscreen onehour before you swim.
  • Wear summer hats and sunglasses that block UVB and UVA rays and wear clothes that protect your skin fromthe sun.

Other Ways To Have Skin Protection from the Sun

  • Shade.Sitting under the tree or using an umbrella doesn’t mean that you will be safe from UVB rays. These harmful rays can bounce off the water, ground, and concrete that surround you. The bigger the umbrella, or the wider the hats you wear, the safer. Sunglasses can just protect your eyes and not your skin, so don’t rely on them. A hat can protect your face and scalp from sun exposure. Its protection is equivalent to SPF 5.
  • Clothe.Choose clothes that can protect you from sun exposure.

  • Skin Biopsy. This is used to determine if you have skin cancer. This procedure removes a piece of your skin that is thensent to the laboratory for analysis.

  • Antibiotics for skin infection
  • Vitamins
