SIMETHICONE

First introduced in 1952, simethicone is an anti-gas (anti-flatulence) medication. It acts in the stomach and intestines to change the surface tension of gas bubbles, enabling their breakdown and the formation of larger bubbles.

This product is used to relieve symptoms of extra gas such as belching, bloating, and feelings of pressure/discomfort in the stomach/gut. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut.

Simethicone should not be used by:

  • Persons allergic to simethicone
  • Children under 12 years old
  • Infants with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency

There are no reports of any side effects due to this medication. However, tell your doctor if you experience any unpleasant effects while taking this medication.
