SCALDED SKIN SYNDROME

Early symptoms of scalded skin syndrome are as follows:

  • Fatigue
  • Chills
  • Weakness
  • Lack of appetite
  • Conjunctivitis, an eye infection

After the toxin gets discharged, you may likewise observe:

  • Red, tender skin
  • Easily broken blisters
  • Peeling skin, even as large sheets

DIAGNOSIS

Diagnosis is typically made through a medical history taking and a physical exam.

Since the symptoms of scalded skin syndrome can look like those for other skin problems, for example, bullous impetigo and certain types of dermatitis, your doctor may do a skin biopsy or obtain a culture to make a more conclusive determination. They may likewise request for blood tests and tissue tests taken by swabbing within the throat and nose.

TREATMENT

  • Skin creams

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and steroids aren’t utilized because they can negatively affect the kidneys and the immune system.

As the blisters deplete and overflow, dehydration can turn into an issue. You’ll be advised to drink a lot of liquids. Recovery commonly starts 24– 48 hours after treatment is begun. Full recovery takes after only five to seven days later.
