RECOMBINANT HEPATITIS B VACCINE

Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine is used to prevent hepatitis B virus infections. It is made up of non-infectious subunit viral particles obtained from HBsAg grown in yeast cells in the form of a sterile suspension.

Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine is used in the prevention of infection caused by all known subtypes of hepatitis B virus

Do not give this drug to people with the following conditions:

  • History of severe allergic or hypersensitivity reactions after a previous dose of any hepatitis B-containing vaccine

Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine may have the following side effects:

Precautions

Take extra caution in patients with the following medical conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity to latex
  • Apnea in premature infants
  • Infants weighing less than 2000 g
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation

Interactions

There are no known drug interactions with Recombinant hepatitis B vaccine
