QUADRIVALENT HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS TYPES 6 11 16 18 RECOMBINANT VACCINE

Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus Types 6, 11, 16, 18 recombinant vaccine is a vaccine for human papilloma virus infection prevention. It is manufactured from the sterile virus-like particles (VLPs) of the major capsid (L1) protein of HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18. The L1 proteins are created by separate fermentations in recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae and is self-assembled into VLPs.

L1 capsids are produced by individually fermenting in recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae and assembled into VLPs. Since these particles do not contain viral DNA, they are unable to infect human cells or multiply.

Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus Types 6, 11, 16, 18 recombinant vaccine is used in the following:

  • For the prevention of cervical, vulvar, vaginal and anal cancer
  • Prevention of precancerous or dysplastic lesions in the genital areas
  • Prevention of genital warts
  • Prevention of infections caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

Do not use Quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus Types 6, 11, 16, 18 recombinant vaccine is you have the following:

  • Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients of the vaccine
  • Active external genital lesions
  • Cervical, vulvar, vaginal, or anal cancers
  • Diseases that are not caused by HPV

  • Pregnancy
  • Breast-feeding

Interactions

Quadrivalent human papillomavirus types 6, 11, 16, 18 recombinant vaccine may interact with the following medicines:        

  • Blood thinners (such as warfarin)
  • Cancer chemotherapy
  • Corticosteroids (such as prednisone, dexamethasone)
  • Drugs that weaken the immune system (such as cyclosporine, tacrolimus)
