PHENYLEPHRINE CHLORPHENAMINE

Phenylephrine Chlorphenamine is a medication that contains Phenylephrine HCl, a decongestant and Chlorphenamine Maleate, a medicine for allergy.

Phenylephrine HCl, a nasal decongestant, clears obstruction in the air passages and nasal sinuses because of congestion, enabling breathing easier. It likewise lessens postnasal drip.

Chlorphenamine Maleate is an anti-allergy and alleviates symptoms of hypersensitivity, for example, runny nose, sneezing, and itchy, watery eyes.

Phenylephrine Chlorphenamine is used in the following:

  • Relief of clogged nose, itchy and watery eyes
  • Sneezing, headache, body aches and fever associated with flu
  • Common cold
  • Alergic rhinitis
  • Sinusitis
  • Other minor respiratory tract infections

Do not give Phenylephrine Chlorphenamine to people with the following conditions:

  • Hypersensitivity
  • High blood pressure
  • Severe heart disease
  • Anemia
  • Kidney or liver disease
  • Pregnancy and lactation
  • Concomitant use with aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • Bronchospasm
  • Angioedema
  • Nasal polyps or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
  • Suffering from stomach ulcers
  • Bleeding or other stomach problems
  • History of stroke
  • Heart attack
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Right before or after heart surgery

Phenylephrine Chlorphenamine may have the following side effects:

  • Tremor
  • Restlessness
  • Anxiety
  • insomnia/sleeplessness
  • Nervousness
  • Dizziness
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Palpitation
  • Arrhythmia
  • Weakness
  • Respiratory distress and pallor
  • Sleepiness/drowsiness
  • Skin rashes
  • Hypersensitivity
  • Change in number of WBC and platelets
  • Minor stomach and intestinal disturbances

Phenylephrine Chlorphenamine may have the following side effects:

  • Tremor

Symptoms of overdose may include the following:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Sweating
  • Stomach/abdominal pain
  • Extreme tiredness
  • Agitation
  • Confusion
  • Flushing
  • Hallucinations
  • Yellowing eyes/skin
  • Dark urine
  • Seizures
